Why Getting College Ready Means Enrolling with Zelle®

Enrolling your student with Zelle® is a great opportunity to initiate a conversation about how to make smart financial decisions before your student goes off on their own. A little money management 101 about the importance of following a budget, tracking expenses, and managing spending can effectively lay the groundwork to help your student develop good money habits.
If your student is living with roommates, Zelle® is an easy way for them to split costs like rent, utilities or groceries. Or if they grab a bite to eat, it’s easy to split the bill. Instead of texting the amount they owe, simply send a payment request* with Zelle® from the Traditional Bank app. Friends can quickly respond to the payment request from their own banking app (if their bank offers Zelle®), even if they don’t have an account with Traditional Bank.
Here's how your student can send payment requests using Zelle® if they have a Traditional Bank checking account:
👉 Step 1: Enroll or log in to Digital Banking through Online Banking or on the Traditional Bank mobile app.
👉 Step 2: Select “Move Money>Send Money with Zelle®" and accept Terms and Conditions.
👉 Step 3: Select the recipient (by searching for the contact or adding a new contact using their email address or U.S. mobile number), add the amount you'd like to send and an optional note, review, then hit "Send."
