Stay Safe: Protect Yourself From Scams

stay safe: protect yourself from scams

At Traditional Bank, your security is our priority. Here are some important reminders to help keep your information safe:

What We Will Never Do

  • Ask to remotely access your computer or phone.
  • Email, text, or call asking you to sign in to your Online Banking from a link we send.
  • Request your full password, PIN, or one-time passcode.

Use Caution with Links & Attachments

  • Don’t click suspicious links or open unexpected attachments, even if they look like they’re from a company you trust.
  • Always go directly to a company’s official website by typing the address into your browser.

How to Spot a Scam

  • Urgent language: “Act now” or “Your account will be closed.”
  • Requests for sensitive information like account numbers, passwords, or Social Security numbers.
  • Messages with typos, poor grammar, or unusual email addresses.
  • Companies do not need you to log into your online banking while they have access to your computer.

What To Do if You’re Unsure

  • Hang up and call our local team directly at 859-498-0414.
  • Stop and think before you click.
  • Report suspicious emails, texts, or calls immediately.

Remember, your good judgement is often your best defense.
