Board of Health selects Friesen as chair

Traditional Bank is excited to announce Michael Friesen has been selected to chair The Lexington-Fayette County Board of Health for the 2020-21 fiscal year, which began July 1.

Friesen joined the Board of Health in November 2016 and has served as chair of the Finance Committee the last three years and was the Board of Health’s vice-chair in 2019-20.  Friesen said, “I greatly appreciate being given the opportunity to contribute and give back to my community. The Health Department faces public health emergencies, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and financial challenges such as the state pension crisis. I believe that my experience serving on the Board of Health and then my financial background enables me to contribute to the success of the Health Department and effectively navigate the challenges it faces.”

Friesen is Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer at Traditional Bank in Lexington with 15 years of commercial banking experience. He is a native of Lexington and graduated from Henry Clay High School. Friesen has an MBA from the University of Kentucky and BSBA-Finance from the University of Richmond. In his free time Friesen enjoys spending time with his three children, golfing and playing tennis.
