Traditional Bank is more than a name on a building. It is a promise to give our very best to our customers and our community every day. That may seem like a tall order. But lucky for us we’ve had more than 12 decades as a locally-owned bank to figure it out.

Our History

1902

Two banks Traders National Bank and Montgomery National Bank formed in Mt. Sterling 30 days of one another.

1988

Two banks, Traders National Bank and Montgomery National Bank, formed in Mt. Sterling to become Traditional Bank.

1996-97

Traditional Bank opens two locations in Lexington and one in the Winchester market.

2017

Traditional Bank now has 13 branches, located in 5 counties and has grown to over $1.4 billion in assets.

2018

Traditional Bank opens second location in Paris and first in Frankfort market, growing to 15 branches in six counties.

2019

Traditional Bank opens second location in downtown Winchester.

2021

Traditional Bank opens a new Loan Production Office in Louisville. This is the first location in Jefferson County and expands our service area to seven Kentucky counties.

2022

Traditional Bank celebrates its 120th anniversary!

Traditional Bank expands its Louisville Loan Production Office to include a new mortgage lending team.

Traditional Bank opens its first banking center in Shelby County. In addition to personal deposit, commercial cash management and business lending services, this location also includes a full-service in-house residential mortgage team.

2023

Traditional Bank opens a drive up location in Shelbyville.

Traditional Bank converts its Louisville Loan Production Office into a full service banking center
